The beauty of this job is the fact that you are involved in the whole process of designing and making. From concept to finished article. Especially rewarding when it concerns a bespoke piece when a huge amount of emotional value is added. I have always been attracted to the "alchemy" side of things. Making jewellery is an ancient craft and I'm often glued to the glass of display cases in museums where you can find jewellery that is thousands of years old but looks like it's been made yesterday, in fact, the design is often so universal it could be worn today. Seeing people wear my jewellery is a huge thrill, it becomes part of them. I never tire of seeing peoples faces when they open their little box ...
